Dental issues are hardly ever easy. When is the last time you went to the dentist and you were told you didn’t need any cleaning? Had no tartar and no scraping was necessary?
Brushing and flossing are rarely enough for people, why should you expect that chewing a bone now and then be enough for your pet?
Plaque Attack uses the miracle of essential oils to help break the cycle of bad breath, terrible teeth and other dental related health issues. Although there may be numerous reasons why the essential oil-based formula of Plaque Attack works so well, some studies point to our active ingredients ability to disrupt the biofilm that is the “base” for plaque, tartar and dental calculus.
FAQ/ How and Why Plaque Forms- and how Plaque Attack helps keep your pets mouth healthy:
Mineralization: If plaque is not removed through proper oral hygiene practices like brushing and flossing, it can harden and mineralize over time, turning into a substance called tartar or dental calculus. Tartar is much harder to remove than plaque and must be removed either by tools (and anesthesia which has costs and risks easily avoided with Plaque Attack), biofilm-interrupting essential oil solutions such as Plaque Attack, or sometimes chewing on bones. Bones alone do not generally remove tartar on the gumline, so inflammation and its source may still be present and hurting your pet.
Gum Inflammation: As plaque and tartar build-up along the gumline, they can irritate the gums, leading to inflammation and redness. This condition is known as gingivitis and is the earliest stage of gum disease. If left untreated, gingivitis can progress to more severe forms of gum disease, such as periodontitis, which can result in tooth loss and other complications.
Simply put, disrupted biofilm knocks the support out from under the plaque and tartar/dental calculus and it simply falls off or is knocked off during normal chewing.
